ATP World Tour Fan...ME...Riding High On the End of Year Results with the #Underdog.

Everybody who follows the ATP World Tour will remember this year as the year Rafael Nadal won the comeback of the year award and earned the year end #1 ranking. Rafa is amazing! This time last year most people would have said we miss him but we won't be surprised if Rafa doesn't come back. That is a huge story. I am now a big Stan Wawrinka fan. Not because he is such a shining star. He sparkled at the Australian Open back in January. I tend to follow a lot of my tennis idols on Twitter and Facebook. I actually write them fan mail all the time. I am floored at becoming a Stan fan at the precise moment he became the miracle of the year. Rafa recovered...Stan has transformed... I call him an underdog and he is by every definition of the word THE UNDERDOG in the final four this year at the ATP World Tour End of Year Championship. Back in January I told Stan I was rooting for him to make it to the final top eight players for the End of Year Championship. And a few days ago when he qualified in Paris I was mildly surprised...BUT NOW HE IS IN THE SEMI-FINALS. I don't care who you are this is amazing. He is a real threat to all three players. All of them are jaded...exhausted...and pumped up to win. It's anybody's trophy. I'm rooting for Rafa or Stan because this is one title that has eluded Rafa and it is just an amazing opportunity for Stan...and either one of them just might do it!

OMG STAn it is 3-1 in the second set and you are serving with the advantage....are you having fun yet? Nole is a monster...set a wall of defense and it's a good day to climb.

Hell...you are from Switzerland right?

Is there anything in the imagination that could possibly inspire anyone to think that you have a chance Stan?

it's just a little box...how many serves does Nole have...maybe 12? are half of them on one side or the other?

I think Nole has about 21 serves... I have maybe 3 real ones and 8 or so that I play with...the major thing is the grip and the intention of whether it is flat or sliced...which is all about the grip...Nole is so mathematically gifted...at least I imagine that he can play with numbers in ways that would be unpleasant to me.

It's impossible to watch this match...but I am going back to the end.

How often does the opponent really help the winner in tennis? it seems to me like it is quite a bit. Confidence is a funny thing. I think Stan will have the confidence to hold his serve...but returning Nole's serve is a puzzle.

I SO love it that they are playing David Bowie's Heroes in the background after the matches today. As always Stan and Roger are in good company. Nole is a monster. I really love him a lot too. I don't root for him because he is hardly ever the #underdog.
